INVITATION
Invitation is a short message or request to invite
the relatives, friends, acquaintances, officials and business relations to attend functions, events and celebrations.
Occasion : birthday, wedding, house warming, inauguration of office/shop, annual function of school, competition, etc.

Formal Invitation
Points
to remember :
1. It is usually written in one single sentence (for card form)
2. Name of invitee is not included/important
(supposed to be on envelope)
3. The matter should be centre aligned.
4. Simple present tense should be used.
5. It is written in third person, mostly in passive voice.
6. Word limit is 50 words.
7. It should be put in box.
8. In case a VIP is invited, include the name of VIP prominently.
9. Invitation to VIP to preside over the programme should not include name of VIP.
10. The matter/message should be brief and precise.
11. Important details should be included such as host, occasion, time, date, venue, etc.
12. No punctuation is put at the break of line.
13. Formal invitations are written in polite, pleasant and courteous language.
14. Use variety of fonts for name of occasion, VIP, message and details.
